Pliskin Team Members – One VP and One Rookie –
Represent Buyer and Seller in
$1.45 Million Shopping Center Sales

Pliskin Realty & Development, a full-service commercial real estate company, announced today that two of its associates teamed up to close on a $1,450,000 sale of a strip shopping center located at 24 Merrick Avenue in Merrick, NY. Representing the seller was rookie Pliskin Sales Associate Greg Batista and representing the buyer was Pliskin’s Vice President of Investment Sales Mitchell Friedman. It was Mr. Batista’s first sale. According to Pliskin, the fully-rented shopping center is a 6,220-square foot, one floor property which contains a bakery, Chinese restaurant, kitchen cabinetry store and chiropractor’s offices. The new owner is planning a renovation to upgrade the center.

At Pliskin, Mr. Batista concentrates in the leasing of retail properties and the sale of investment properties, including shopping centers, other retail properties, office buildings and multi-family residential properties, on behalf of Pliskin’s diverse clientele. He draws on his prior experience with a national owner and operator of commercial and retail real estate.

Prior to joining Pliskin, Mr. Batista served as an Acquisition Specialist with Ashkenazy Acquisitions Corp. (New York, NY), a private, entrepreneurial real estate investment firm which focuses on purchasing primarily retail and office assets.

Mr. Batista holds a Bachelor of Science in Marketing and Management from Siena College (Albany, NY), where he played Division I Baseball as the team’s centerfielder.

As Vice President of Investment Sales for Pliskin Realty & Development, Mr. Friedman is responsible for the research and development of new properties, sales negotiations on behalf of property owners and sellers, as well as the training of Pliskin’s sales associates. He began his career at the Company in 2001 and is a recognized as a strong “deal maker”. Indicative of the deals he makes was the $8.1 million Fort Salonga shopping center sale he brokered this summer.

Prior to joining Pliskin, Mr. Friedman served as Director of Real Estate for Pergament Investments and as the President of his own successful brokerage firm, M. Lindsey Associates. His expertise is frequently tapped by associations for lecturers, as well as the media for whom he has authored various articles relating to real estate market analyses, growth and expansion. Mr. Friedman holds a Bachelor of Science in Real Estate and Urban Development from American University.
